a little bit nervous ~ [family photographer fargo]

The last time I met up with this family was two summers ago, when I was doing some travel sessions down by the cities. They met me in downtown Buffalo, MN and I had the best time getting to know their family. The photos from that session were some of my all-time favorites. So when they contacted me again to set up another session and told me they would be traveling up to Fargo especially for the photoshoot, I have to admit the butterflies in my stomach started flying. The images from their first session were so much fun; I felt some pressure to make this session just as great. Lucky for me… this family came in perfectly dressed (I would love to hire mom to style ALL my sessions) and ready to have some fun! Once again, we had a great experience, and the images I was able to capture of this family are some of my NEW favorites!

This is summer 2008…

and when I had them all lined up and sweet little Anya squatted down in front all on her own, I couldn’t help but get flashbacks to that image from last time.

Something that I’ve noticed that can make a session go from good to GREAT is a fun dad. A relaxed dad who is “up” for a family photo session can really set the tone. This family was lucky enough to have a super-FUN-guy for a dad, and as you can tell from the photo below, he had just said something totally silly and unexpected… and I LOVE the expressions that were captured as a result.fargo moorhead family photographer

Awesome, I’d say you rocked it again! Mom sure does know how to style her cute family. Maybe should could author an instruction book for us. I second your thoughts on Dad…a fun and “happy” dad can make a big difference in how the shoot goes.

These pictures are amazing. Now I can put the one you mail out next to the 2008 one on my fridge. I love my sister and the family so much. Being an aunt rocks. I think my husband and I may get some pics taken sometime and for sure when we have children.

Thank you so much Ria Lee.
