A children’s session with Ria is relaxed, casual, and fun! The pace of the session is dictated by the child; there is always time for a break, a snack or a clothing change. The best part? No stress for the parents…no waiting in line, or rushed sessions, cheesy smiles or making sure your child is posed perfectly. Ria is not looking to create a traditional perfect portrait. Life is hardly perfect and she intends to capture your life. Because she recognizes that the most natural images are a result of connecting with the child, she may ask to take the child away from the group so she can work one-on-one with the subject. This allows the child to relax and really lets their personality shine through in the portraits…and gives the parents a break as well!

Ria will never want you to tell your child to say “cheese” or to look at the camera. She prefers to shoot in an “editorial” style, which means that while she may do a few posed shots of your child, she prefers to watch them, interact with them, and capture through her lens those moments that parents will want to hold on to forever. Being a mother herself, Ria realizes that childhood is fleeting and her desire is to deliver her clients breathtaking images that seem to stop time…even if just for a moment.

Children’s sessions can take place at the loft in downtown Fargo where your child will be photographed inside with 100% natural light, and depending on the weather, the urban outdoor surroundings can be used for others. Ria also loves to shoot on location at local parks, rural fields and farms, or even in your backyard! If you would like to do photos both at the loft and at another location, there is an extra $50 location fee. For travel outside of the FM area, there is a $50 charge for every 25 miles.

Cost for a children’s session is $275 which includes up to two children, the time of the session, the individual editing of your images and uploading them to your private online gallery and a $100 print credit. There is an extra charge of $25 for each additional child.
